The Poetics of Jaroslav Seifert’s late work

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá poetikou pozdní tvorby Jaroslava Seiferta, jediného českého nositele Nobelovy ceny za literaturu. V šedesátých letech se básník po odmlce způsobené těžkou chorobou vrací k tvorbě s výrazně pozměněnou poetikou. Do tohoto období spadá celkem šest básnických sbírek. Těžištěm této bakalářské práce je interpretace sbírek Halleyova kometa a Morový sloup, u kterých je sledována proměna poetiky. Cílem práce je postihnout podstatné rysy básníkovy nové poetiky v posledním období jeho tvorby. Práce též zohledňuje reakce dobové kritiky.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the poetics of Jaroslav Seifert’s late work, the only Czech Nobel Prize winner for literature. In the 1960s, after a pause caused by a severe illness, the poet returned to work with a much altered poetics. There are six poetry collections in this period. The focus of this bachelor thesis is the interpretation of the collections of Halleyova kometa and Morový sloup, where the transformation of poetics is studied. The aim of this work is to describe the basic features of the new poetry in the last period of his creation. The thesis also takes into account the reaction of the period criticism.
