Forty Years Burning Down the Road: American Dream vs. American Reality in the Songs of Bruce Springsteen
Abstract:
The aim of the diploma thesis is to capture the distance between the American Dream and American reality as depicted in the songs of Bruce Springsteen. In the thesis the songs? lyrics are used to trace the development of Springsteen?s perception of the American Dream, particularly what it represents and what can be done to enable its possible fulfillment.
Abstract:
Cílem diplomové práce je zachytit rozdíl mezi americkým snem a realitou každodenního života v písních amerického autora Bruce Springsteena. Práce se pokouší pomocí písňových textů sledovat vývoj Springsteenova chápání amerického snu, především pak toho, co představuje a jak je možno dosáhnout jeho případného naplnění.
