Problems of care of patient with a colostomy

Abstract:

Cíl: V teoretické části bakalářské práce bylo cílem nastínit problematiku kolostomie. Popsat důvody založení kolostomie, operační metody vyšití kolostomie a podat základní informace o ošetřovatelské péči pacienta s kolostomií. Cílem praktické části bylo popsat tuto problematiku péče o pacienta s dočasnou kolostomií v průběhu hospitalizace a následně v domácí péči. Metodika: K dosažení stanovených cílů byla zvolena kvalitativní výzkumná metoda, kazuistika. Pro studii byl vybrán klient, kterému byla pro komplikaci onemocnění založena dočasná kolostomie. Výsledky: Na základě rozhovorů, pozorování a studiem zdravotní dokumentace byla popsána situace, která u pacienta vedla k založení dočasného vývodu, jeho postoj k vývoji onemocnění i pooperačním komplikacím. Je zde nastíněna i problematika komunikace a vyrovnání se změnou životního stylu. Závěr: Z práce vyplývá, že problematika ošetřovatelské péče nespočívá pouze v ošetřování rány nebo stomie. Velkou úlohu zde hraje multioborová spolupráce, komunikace mezi pacientem, zdravotnickým personálem a rodinou. Touto společnou cestou bylo dosaženo návratu pacienta do běžného života.

Abstract:

Goal: The theoretical part of this thesis has been aimed at the description of the issue of colostomy. Reasons for making a colostomy as well as used surgical methods of making colostomy have been listed in detail. The work has also been aimed at basic information about nursing care of the patient with a colostomy. The practical part of the thesis has been devoted to the issue of care of the patient with colostomy both during the hospital care and further home care. Methods: A qualitative research method as well as case study have been used to achieve the objectives. The patient with the temporary colostomy made after the complication has participated in the case study. Results: The situation leading to the temporary colostomy has been described based on the interviews, observations and medical documentation analysis. The patient´s attitude towards the various stages of his illness and treatment as well as post-operational complications have been considered. The issue of communication and change of patient´s lifestyle have been discussed too. Conclusion: The thesis comes to the conclusion that the issue of nursing care does not involve only the treatment of the surgical wound and stomy. The interdisciplinary cooperation, communications among a patient, his family and medical staff have been of great importance. The above mentioned co-operation has been the ideal way of returning patient to an everyday life.
