The Economy of selected Churches and Religious Societies in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá hospodařením vybraných církví a náboženských společností v České republice, které se v současné době připravují na finanční odluku od státu, která nastane v roce 2030 v důsledku přijetí zákona č. 428/2012 Sb. Cílem práce bylo zanalyzovat průběh majetkového vyrovnání mezi Českou republikou a církví a zhodnotit dopad vyrovnání na tyto organizace. Vyhodnocení proběhlo prostřednictvím finanční analýzy konkrétní církve a farního sboru této církve. Výsledky ukazují, že majetkové vyrovnání negativně dopadá na základní církevní jednotky - farní sbory, a to hlavně v důsledku zvyšujících se celocírkevních odvodů. Dále se práce zaměřuje na uplatnitelnost vybraných modelů financování církví a transparentnost církví a náboženských společností v České republice.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the performance of selected churches and religious societies in the Czech Republic, which are currently preparing for financial separation from the state, which will occur in 2030 as a result of the adoption of Act No. 428/2012 Coll. This thesis aim is to analyze the process of a property settlement between the Czech Republic and the church and evaluate the impact of this settlement on these organisations. The evaluation was carried out through a financial analysis of a specific church and a parish congregation of that church. The results show that the property settlement has a negative impact on the basic church units - parish congregations, mainly due to increasing church-wide levies. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on the applicability of selected models of church financing and transparency of churches and religious societies in the Czech Republic.
