The attitude of social workers toward using of imagination and fantasy in the work with clients suffering trauma caused by sexual violence

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá postojem sociálních pracovníků k využití imaginace a imaginativních technik při práci s klienty, kteří prodělali trauma způsobené sexuálním násilím. Cílem využití technik by tak měla být psychická stabilizace klienta a zlepšení jeho prožívání. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na vymezení pojmů imaginace, imaginativní techniky, trauma, posttraumatická stresová porucha, sociální práce s lidmi s traumatem a postoj. Praktická část se pak zaměřuje na odpověď na hlavní výzkumnou otázku: Jaký je postoj sociálních pracovníků k využití imaginace a představivosti při práci s klienty s traumatem vzniklým sexuálním násilím? Data pro výzkum byla získána za pomoci kvalitativní metody, konkrétně polostrukturovaného rozhovoru s pracovníky organizací zabývajících se oběťmi domácího násilí, znásilnění či sexuálního zneužívání. Závěr práce předkládá odpověď na výzkumnou otázku a nabízí další doporučení pro praxi při práci s cílovou skupinou.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the attitude of social workers toward using of imagination and technics of imagination in the work with clients suffering trauma caused by sexual violence. The effect of using technics of imagination should be psychological and emotional stabilization. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the concepts of imagination, technics of imagination, trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder, social work with traumatized people and the attitude. The practical part answers the main research question: What is the attitude of social workers toward using of imagination and technics of imagination in the work with clients suffering trauma caused by sexual violence? In the course of the research, qualitative research method was used to obtain input data. Specifically was used semi-structured interviews with social workers from organizations worked with victims of domestic violence, rape or sexual abuse. The conclusion of the thesis presents the answer to the main research question and recommendations for practice of social workers.
