Social workers' dilemmas at the chosen department of material need

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá dilematy sociálních pracovnic hmotné nouze, se kterými se při výkonu své profese pracovnice setkávají, a jejich dopadem na práci s klienty. Úkolem sociálních pracovnic hmotné nouze není pouze vyhodnocování a výplata dávek hmotné nouze, ale taktéž sociální práce s klienty v hmotné nouzi směřující ke zlepšení životních situací klientů, což sociálním pracovnicím může přinášet mnohá dilemata, které nějakým způsobem prožívají a řeší. Cílem práce je čtenáře nejen seznámit se základními teoretickými pojmy a koncepty spjatými s tématem práce, ale také zjistit, jak se sociální pracovnice vyrovnávají s dopady prožívání dilemat na práci s klienty. To je zjišťováno prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů se sociálními pracovnice hmotné nouze nejmenovaného vybraného kontaktního pracoviště Úřadu práce České republiky. Zjištění jsou interpretována v empirické části práce.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with dilemmas of social workers at the department of material need and their impact on work with clients. The role of social workers at the department of material need is not only the material poverty assessment and material need benefits providing but also social work with clients in material need towards improvement clients´ life situations. That can bring a lot of dilemmas that social workers must face and solve. The aim of the thesis is not only introduce the basic theoretical terms and concepts connected with theme of the work but also to find out how social workers cope with the consequences of experiencing dilemmas on their work with clients. This is investigated via semi-structured interviews with social workers at the chosen department of material need of the Labour Office of the Czech Republic. The findings are interpreted in the empirical part of the work.
