Carbon monoxide poisoning in pre-hospital care

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou pacientů s akutní intoxikací oxidem uhelnatým v podmínkách přednemocniční péče. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a empirickou. Teoretická část popisuje v jednotlivých kapitolách vlastnosti oxidu uhelnatého, jeho diagnostiku, intoxikaci oxidem uhelnatým a následnou přednemocniční péči o pacienty intoxikované oxidem uhelnatým. Empirická část se zabývá případy čtyř pacientů s akutní intoxikací oxidem uhelnatým. Je zde popsán postup záchranného týmu na místě události s diagnostickou rozvahou, terapií a následným transportem do zdravotnického zařízení. Cílem bakalářské práce je vypracování kazuistik pacientů intoxikovaných oxidem uhelnatým. Práce má poskytnout náhled do problematiky akutní intoxikace oxidem uhelnatým a tím upozornit na jeho úskalí a nedostatečné povědomí o jeho rizicích u obyvatel včetně podceňování jeho nebezpečnosti, protože otravy oxidem uhelnatým jsou jedny z nejčastějších příčin otrav s velmi závažnými následky pro pacienty, které nezřídka vedou i ke smrti. Bakalářská práce má seznámit odborné zdravotnické pracovníky i laiky s možností předcházení akutní intoxikace oxidem uhelnatým. Celá práce si klade za cíl navrhnout preventivní opatření vůči otravám tímto bezbarvým plynem, kterému se ne nadarmo říká tichý zabiják.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with problems of patients with acute intoxication by carbon monoxide in the conditions of pre-hospital care. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part describes in single chapters the character of carbon monoxide, its diagnostics, intoxication by carbon monoxide and subsequent pre-hospital care of patients intoxicated by carbon monoxide. The empirical part deals with cases of four patients with acute intoxication by carbon monoxide. It is a description of the procedure of the rescue team at the place of the event, the diagnostics premeditation, therapy and subsequent transportation to medical facility. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to work out casuistries of patients intoxicated by carbon monoxide. The thesis should provide a view into the problems of acute intoxication by carbon monoxide and thereby alert to its pitfall and insufficient knowledge of its dangers for people, including underestimating its danger, because intoxication by carbon monoxide is one of the most frequent causes of intoxication with very serious consequences for patients, which often lead even to death. This bachelor thesis should inform skilled medical workers and also amateurs about the possibility of prevention of acute intoxication by carbon monoxide. The task of the whole thesis is to suggest precautions against intoxication by this colourless gas, which is not without cause called a silent killer.
