Gender in Contemporary Czech Literature

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je analyzovat díla vybraných současných českých autorek a zjistit, jak se ve svých dílech vyrovnávají s problematikou genderu a feminismu zda se tato problematika v jejich dílech vůbec vyskytuje. První část práce definuje pojem gender, a s tím spojený termín feminismus. Vysvětlením provázanosti a vzájemné korelace obou těchto termínů je vytvořen teoretický podklad pro následnou analýzu děl. Tuto teorii rozšiřuje navazující podkapitola, která se zabývá vznikem a historií feminismu a popisuje evoluci feministického hnutí až po současnost, tím dodává kontext filosofii dnešního feminismu a genderového myšlení. Vývoj tohoto hnutí v Čechách a jeho specifika jsou předmětem zkoumání v následující části. Ve druhé kapitole se zabýváme genderem a jeho pojetím v literatuře. Po těchto teoretických kapitolách následuje už samotná genderová analýza vybraných textů, ve kterých jsou zkoumány gender a genderové stereotypy. To, jak jsou nebo nejsou zobrazeny v jednotlivých dílech.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor´s thesis is an analysis of works of chosen contemporary Czech authors. The main focus is to find out how they are dealing with the problematic of gender and feminism. Whether this problematic is in their works manifested at all or not. The first part of the thesis defines the term gender and the term feminism which is connected to it. Explanation of correlation of these terms builds theoretical background for following analysis of chosen works. Next part is focusing on evolution of feminism from the start to present day. It also explains specifics of Czech feminism. Second chapter is focused on the conception of gender in literature. After these theoretical chapters follows an actual analysis of chosen texts in which gender and gender stereotypes are examined.
