Social work with foster families focuses on sibling relations between biological children of foster parents and children entrusted to foster care

Abstract:

The master thesis deals with social work with foster families, focusing on sibling relationships between biological children of foster parents and children entrusted to foster care. The purpose of the study is to answer the main research question: “What attitude interest social workers to sibling relations among the biological children of foster parents and among the children entrusted to foster care on the work with foster family?” In the theoretical part of the study are presented basic concepts such as foster family, sibling relationship, biological children, children entrusted to foster care, as well as social work and the concept of attitude. Methodological part involves justification of the qualitative research tactics. Research is conducted by technique of semi-structured interview with nine respondents – social workers. Collected data are interpreted on the basis of open and axial coding. In the end is answered the main research question, the recommendation for further research and also for the practice.

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá sociálnou prácou s pestúnskymi rodinami so zameraním na súrodenecké vzťahy medzi biologickými deťmi pestúnov a deťmi zverenými do pestúnskej starostlivosti. Cieľom práce je odpovedať na hlavnú výskumnú otázku „Aký postoj zaujímajú sociálni pracovníci k súrodeneckým vzťahom medzi biologickými deťmi pestúnov a deťmi zverenými do pestúnskej starostlivosti pri práci s pestúnskou rodinou?“ V teoretickej časti práce sú predstavené základné pojmy ako pestúnska rodina, súrodenecký vzťah, biologické deti, deti zverené do pestúnskej starostlivosti a taktiež sociálna práca a koncept postoja. Metodologická časť obsahuje odôvodnenie voľby kvalitatívnej výskumnej stratégie. Výskum je realizovaný technikou pološtrukturovaného rozhovoru s deviatimi respondentmi – sociálnymi pracovníkmi. Získané údaje sú interpretované na základe otvoreného a axiálneho kódovania. V závere je zodpovedaná hlavná výskumná otázka, odporúčanie pre ďalší výskum a taktiež pre prax.
