Art Patronage of the Primavesi Family in Moravia

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá tématem Mecenátu rodiny Primavesi na Moravě na počátku 20. století, kdy si tato bankéřská rodina nechala v Olomouci v letech 1905-1906 vystavět podle projektu Franze Krausse a Josefa Tölka vilu v historickém centru města. Její majitelé Otto a Eugenie Primavesi jsou nazýváni milovníky umění a shromáždili ve vile velké množství soch od Antona Hanaka a obrazů od Gustava Klimta. Velkou uměleckou hodnotu má rovněž dochované umělecko řemeslné vybavení prvního podlaží. Mezi lety 1913- 1914 si rodina nechala od architekta Josefa Hoffmanna navrhout a vystavět své letní sídlo v Koutech nad Desnou, které se skládalo ze souboru objektů, zahrnující vlastní elektrárnu, bazén, sluneční lázeň, stáje, garáž a tenisové kurty. Největší pozornost však budila dřevěná hlavní budova s doškovou střechou postavená na kamenné podezdívce. Použití přírodních materiálů pro ni bylo osudné, jelikož v roce 1922 vyhořela. Její dřívější podobu tak známe pouze z dobových fotografií a Hoffmanových návrhů. Rodina se na počátku 20. století stala jedněmi z nejvýznamnějších mecenášů umění na Moravě a domy, které si nechala vystavět, patří mezi první moderní domy na Moravě.

Abstract:

My thesis discusses about „ Art Patronage of the Primavesi Family in Moravia“ at the beginning of 20th century. This family of bankers owned the villa in a historical center of Olomouc. The plan of this villa was done by Franz Krauss and Josef Tölk. They have been working on that through the years 1905 and 1906. Otto and Eugenie Primavesi (the owners of this villa), are known as Art lovers because they gathered a lot of statues by Anton Hanak and pictures by Gustav Klimt. The art industrial equipment of the first floor has great artistic value. The architect Josef Hoffmann designed and built the summer residence in Kouty nad Desnou, which was compiled from several parts- power station, swimming pool, sunbath, stalls, garage, and tennis courts. The wooden main building which was built on the stone socle and had a thatch aroused the greatest attention. In 1922 this building was burnt. We can find the earlier face of this building only from photos and Mr. Hoffman´s designs. At the beginning of the 20th century The Primavesi family became one of the most important Art Patronages in Moravia. The villas of Primavesi family belong to the first modern villas in Moravia.
