Distance learning of the English language in primary education at selected schools in Ústí nad Labem

Abstract:

Distanční výuka v době pandemie přinesla změny v přístupu ke vzdělávání všech předmětů. Od učitelů byla vyžadována změna přístupu k vyučovacímu procesu a také se rychle přizpůsobit a nabýt nové dovednosti v souvislosti s přechodem z kontaktní na distanční výuku. Cílem diplomové práce bylo identifikovat vnímání distanční formy výuky anglického jazyka u učitelů prvního stupně základních škol. Výzkumného šetření se zúčastnilo 126 respondentů. Kromě celkového vnímání distanční výuky bylo snahou identifikovat vliv genderu, věku, délky pedagogické praxe, aprobace učitelů, zaměření školy a kraje, z něhož učitelé pocházeli. Na zjištění rozdílů a vztahu byl použít Studentův t-test pro nezávislé výběry a Pearsonův korelační koeficient. Pro nezbytné účely byly použity metody deskriptivní a vícerozměrné statistiky. Významně se projevil vliv genderu a aprobace pedagogů na vnímání distanční výuky anglického jazyka. V závěru jsou uvedeny možnosti pro implikace do pedagogické praxe a návrhy pro další výzkum.

Abstract:

Distance learning at the time of the pandemic brought changes in the approach to education of all subjects. Teachers were required to change their approach to the teaching process and also to adapt quickly and acquire new skills in connection with the transition from contact to distance learning. The main aim of the diploma was to identify the perception of the distance form of English language teaching in primary school teachers. 126 respondents participated in the research survey. In addition to the overall perception of distance teaching, the effort was to identify the influence of gender, age, length of pedagogical practise, approbation of teachers, the focus of the school and the region from which the teachers came. The student's t-test for independent selections and pearson's correlation factor was used to determine the differences and relationship. For the necessary purposes were used methods of descriptive and multidimensional statistics. The influence of gender and approbation of teachers on the perception of Distance Learning of the English language has been significantly demonstrated. In conclusion are presented the possibilities for implication in pedagogical practice and suggestions for further research.
