Jedním z klíčových faktorů udržitelného rozvoje příhraničních periferních oblastí je rozvinutá přeshraniční spolupráce. One of the key factors for the sustainable development of border peripheral areas is developed cross-border cooperation. This fact was proved by the period from the end of World War II until 1990, when the Czech borders were well below the level of the state's internal regions due to the closure of the borders.
