Controlling with use of Business Intelligence in industrial company PALMR Inc.

Abstract:

Business Intelligence představuje soubor činností, úkonů a nástrojů vedoucí k získání nejen statických, ale i on-line informací z uložených dat v datovém skladu, které pak v intuitivní vizualizaci slouží k operativnímu i strategickému rozhodování. Skládá se z řady samostatných IT komponent, aplikací, má vlastní architekturu i metodických nástrojů. S transakčními systémy je provázána řadou vazeb. Diplomová práce je zaměřena na teoretické vysvětlení a praktické ověření konkrétního využití komplexního podnikového řešení Business Intelligence a její integrace v důležitých oblastech řízení podniku. Prvním cílem práce je objasnit a vysvětlit, zda metody a koncepty komplexního řešení Business Intelligence jsou využívány k podpoře manažerských a analytických úloh v podnikovém řízení a jakou úlohu při tom plní controllingové oddělení. Druhým cílem je pomocí pozorování ověřit do jaké míry se v řízení konkrétního podniku používá nástrojů řešení Business Intelligence, je-li uplatňována bezpečnostní politika datových informací a navrhnout doporučení pro další zlepšení a rozvoj řízení. Metodou srovnání pojetí vysvětlím problematiku komplexního řešení Business Intelligence v řízení podniku a po provedení syntézy rozsáhlé oblasti Business Intelligence stanovím a analogicky vysvětlím její nejdůležitější oblasti podnikového řízení, které BI představuje a kde je integrována. Poté pozorováním a srovnáváním zjistím, jak je Business Intelligence integrována a jakým způsobem se podílí na rozhodování při řízení konkrétního podniku PALMR a.s.

Abstract:

Business Intelligence means a collection of activities, operations and tools leading to getting not only static but also on-line information from stored data in data stock, which is then in intuitive visualisation used for operative and strategic decision-making. It consists of a set of individual IT components, applications. It has its own architecture as well as methodology and it is linked to transaction systems by several structures. The diploma thesis is targeted at theoretical explanation of and by practice verified particular use of complex business solutions Business Intelligence and how it is integrated in important areas of business management. The first target of this work is to clarify and explain if methods and concepts of complex solutions Business Intelligence are used for support of managerial and analytical tasks in business management and what responsibility controlling department has in this process. The second target is to verify the level of using the tools of solution Business Intelligence during the management of specific business as well as the question of administration of security policy of data information and suggest recommendation for further improvement and development of management. By comparative method of notion I will explain the issue of complex solution Business Intelligence in business management and after synthesizing of large area of Business Intelligence I will stare and analogically explain its most important areas of business management which Business Intelligence introduces and where it is integrated. Ten by observing and comparing I will find out how Business Intelligence is integrated and what way it helps with decision-making when managing the particular business PALMR a.s.
