The Influence of Europeanization on Chosen Political Parties in Czech Republic

Abstract:

Vliv prohlubující se evropské integrace na národní politické systémy je jedním z významných proudů soudobé (nejen české) politologie a jako takový je relevantním tématem rovněž pro bakalářské práce. Evropeizace, jak tento vliv politologie nazývá, popisuje proces, ve kterém jednotliví aktéři, organizace a instituce odpovídají na proměňující se podmínky generované rozvojem Evropské Unie. Cílem práce je diskutovat metodologii a aplikovat teorii evropeizace na vybrané politické strany v České republice a vynést tak závěr o vhodnosti této metodologie, respektive o dopadu evropeizace na český stranický prostor. Autor bude vycházet zejména z metodologie Roberta Ladrecha, který v roce 2002 stanovil pět základních úrovní analýzy procesu evropeizace: 1) programový obsah, 2) organizační proměny, 3) rámec stranické soutěže, 4) vztahy politická strana-vláda a 5) vztahy vně národního stranického systému. Při aplikaci Ladrechovy teorie se student podrobněji zaměří na jednu nebo více uvedených tezí a podle svého výběru zvolí vhodnou metodologii práce (například obsahovou analýzu politických a volebních programů).

Abstract:

Influence of deepening European integration to national political systems is one of significant trend contemporary (not only Czech) political science and as such is relevant subject also for bachelor thesis. Europeanization, as this influence is called by political science, describes process, in which the single participant, organizations and institutions respond to changing conditions generated by development of European Union. The aim of this paper is to discuss methodology and apply theory of Europeanization on chosen political parties in Czech Republic and carry out the conclusion about pertinence of that methodology, respectively about impact of Europeanization on Czech party system.Author will be coming out especially from the methodology of Robert Ladrech, who determined five base-line offset analyses of the process of Europeanization in the year 2002: 1) Programmatic change, 2) Organizational change, 3) Patterns of party competition, 4) Party-government relations and 5) Relations beyond the national party system. While application of Ladrech theory, the student will detail focus on one or more mentioned thesis and after his choice he will opt for fit methodology (for example contextual analysis of political and election programmes).
