The Czech holidays and selected customs and traditions in 5th grades of primary schools

Abstract:

Ústředním tématem diplomové práce jsou české státní svátky a vy- brané zvyky a tradice kalendářního roku. Hlavním cílem práce je vy- tvoření tematického výukového bloku, zatímco mezi dílčí cíle je řazeno zhodnocení validity aktivit formou vstupních a výstupních testů a roz- hovorů s učiteli s odlišnou délkou praxe z rozdílně velkých škol co do počtu žáků. Úvodní části práce se zabývají shrnutím zásad českého vzdělá- vacího systému, Rámcovým vzdělávacím programem pro základní vzdělávání se zaměřením na vzdělávací oblast Člověk a jeho svět a pojmům zvyk, svátek a tradice. Cílem teoretické části práce je sepsání teoretického podloží témat aktivit pro učitele, zásad využívání rozho- vorů a didaktických testů a popis výukových metod. Hlavním cílem praktické části je vytvoření tematického bloku po- jícího se k danému tématu. Prostřednictvím rozhovorů dochází k ově- ření stanoviska pedagogů k obsahu příprav a didaktické testy umož- ňují komparovat vstupní a výstupní znalosti žáků, což naplňuje jeden z dílčích cílů diplomové práce.

Abstract:

The theme of this thesis is Czech holidays and selected Czech cus- toms and traditions in a calendar year. The mail goal of this work is to create a thematic teaching block and in the practical part, to evaluate the validity of the activities with the use of achievement tests and in- terviews with classes’ teachers, who taught in various schools with dif- ferent lengths of teaching practices. The introduction of this thesis is focused on summarizing the Czech educational system, the Basic School Framework Curriculum, specifically the Humans and Society area, and the terms custom, hol- iday, and tradition. The aim of the theoretical part of this work is to list the theoretical background to the activities for teachers, the policy of interviews, achievement tests, and educational methods. The main goal of the empirical part is creating a thematic teaching block that is linked to a certain theme. With the use of interviews, the teachers’ opinions on these teaching plans are reviewed and based on the achievement tests, the comparison of the learners’ initial and final knowledge is made, which fulfils one of the thesis’ practical goals.
