This Bachelor's thesis aims to analyze the speech of the main character of the TV series Miranda from a linguistic point of view. The paper is divided into two chapters. The theoretical part deals with humour, especially humour in linguistics and culture, namely British. Cílem této bakalářské práce je analyzovat řeč hlavní postavy seriálu Miranda z lingvistického hlediska. Práce je rozdělena na teorietickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se zabývá humorem, zejména humorem v lingvistice, sitcomem v souvislovsti s britskou kulturou.
