Staff Attitudes of Homes for People with Health Disabilities towards the Sexuality of People with Intellectual Disabilities

Abstract:

Cílem této práce bylo zjistit postoje pracovníků domovů pro osoby s mentálním postižením k sexualitě lidí s mentálním postižením. První kapitola se zabývá mentálním postižením. Je v ní popsána etiologie mentálního postižení, klasifikace a charakteristika stupňů mentální retardace a psychologické zvláštnosti jedinců s mentálním postižením. Druhá kapitola se zabývá lidskou sexualitou s přihlédnutím k sexualitě lidí s mentálním postižením. V této kapitole jsou popsány vývojové etapy sexuality, její funkce a sexuální chování. Dále se zabývá sexualitou lidí s mentálním postižením, jejich právem na prožívání sexuality a nejčastějšími předsudky k této problematice. Další oblastí, které se druhá kapitola věnuje, jsou možnosti sexuální osvěty lidí s mentálním postižením a možnostmi vzdělávání pracovníků domovů pro osoby se zdravotním postižením v problematice sexuality lidí s mentálním postižením. Třetí kapitola obsahuje informace o ústavní péči, o její historii i současnosti, seznámí nás se Standardy kvality sociálních služeb, se službami, které poskytují svým uživatelům domovy pro osoby se zdravotním postižením, s předpoklady potřebnými pro výkon povolání pracovníka v sociálních službách a s Etickým kodexem pracovníků v sociálních službách. Závěr kapitoly je věnován vymezení pojmu postoje a jeho funkcím, které plní v životě každého jedince. Výzkumnou strategií byl zvolen kvantitativní výzkum, technikou sběru dat byl dotazník. Dotazníky byly rozeslány pracovníkům domovů pro osoby se zdravotním postižením kraje Vysočina. Výzkumné šetření přineslo informace o názorech a postojích k sexualitě lidí s mentálním postižením.

Abstract:

Staff Attitudes of Homes for People with Health Disabilities towards the Sexuality of People with Intellectual Disabilities. First chapter deals with mental disability. It includes information on the etiology of mental disability, a classification and characterization of mental disability and psychology distinctions of people with intellectual disabilities. In the second chapter it is written about the human sexuality and about specifics of the sexuality of people with intellectual disabilities. In this chapter are included developmental periods of sexuality, its function and the sexual behaviour. It is written here about the sexuality of people with intellectual disabilities, their rights for the sexuality and the most common prejudices against these problems as well. The latter part of the second chapter is about the possibilities of a sexual enlightenment of people with intellectual disabilities and about possibilities of education of social workers. The third chapter includes information on an institutional care, its history and the present, it is written here about services in homes for people with health disabilities, about the staff competences in social services and about the ethical code of social workers. The end of the third chapter staking out the concept of „attitude“ and its functions in the life of every person. Quantitative research was chosen as the research strategy, by the questionnaire technique. Questionnaires were sent to staff of homes for people with health disabilities in region Vysočina. The research illustrated the opinions and attitudes about the sexual life of people with intellectual disabilities.
