"Enjoy Your Meal" the Comparison of Menus, Lexical-Cultural German-Czech Analysis

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the comparison of Berchtesgaden´s and Pilsner´s cuisine, restaurants, menus and with them related topic of eating culture and international expressions used within the German and Czech gastronomy. The first part of the thesis explains the concept ?eating culture? and other culture connected topics. This part further explains the international gastronomy expressions and gives an example of both languages. The third, the fourth and the fifth chapters pay attention to Berchtesgaden´s and Pilsner´s traditional cuisine, restaurants and menus. These Chapters incorporate apart from the theoretical information also the practical knowledge gained during the visitation in both cities as well. The thesis includes a bilingual dictionary, which is based on accessible menus. In the annex are two sample menus from both districts that enable the comparison.

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá srovnáním berchtesgadenské a plzeňské kuchyně, restaurací, jídelních lístků a s tím souvisejícím tématem kultury stravování a mezinárodních výrazů v oblasti gastronomie v rámci Německa (Bavorska) a České republiky. První část vysvětluje pojem ?kultura stravování? spolu s dalšími k ní náležícími tématy. V práci je zpracováno téma mezinárodních výrazů v řeči gastronomie, k němuž jsou uvedeny příklady jak z německého (bavorského), tak z českého jazyka. Třetí, čtvrtá a pátá kapitola jsou věnovány tradiční kuchyni, restauracím a jídelním lístkům v Berchtesgadenu a v Plzni. Tyto kapitoly obsahují vedle teoretických, také praktické poznatky získané během návštěv obou výše zmíněných měst. K práci je přiložen dvojjazyčný slovník, jehož obsah vychází z dostupných jídelních lístků. V příloze jsou k nahlédnutí též dva vzorové jídelní lístky reprezentující obě oblasti.
