Small and Big States of the EU and their relation to further deepening of the Integration

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou podpory prohlubování evropské integrace u malých a velkých členských států Evropské unie. Podporou evropské integrace rozumíme, podporu Lisabonské smlouvy, jakožto novelizaci základních Smluv Unie, tedy Smlouvy o založení EU a Smlouvy o fungování EU. V případové studii se zabýváme rozdílným pohledem malých a velkých členských států Evropské unie na prohlubující se Evropskou integraci, pracujeme se vzorkem dvou zástupců malých států: Česká republika a Slovensko a dvou zástupců velkých států: Spojené království a Španělsko. Opíráme se především o postoje vrcholných představitelů státu a zástupců nejsilnějších politických stran v zemi. Pro dokreslení situace v daných státech pracujeme také s oficiálními průzkumy veřejných mínění Evropské komise Eurobarometr.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on problems of the support of the deepening of European integration in small and big member states of the European Union. Promoting European integration is understood as support for the Lisbon Treaty, as amendments to the principle treaties of the Union, namely the Treaty on European Union and the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU. In the case study we deal with the different view of small and big member states of the Europian Union on the deepening Europian integration, we work with a sample of two small states: the Czech Republic and Slovakia and with two representatives of the big states: the United Kingdom and Spain. Mostly we base upon the attitude of high state representatives and members of the strongest political parties in the country. To fully illustrate the situation we also work with the official polls of the European Commission - Eurobarometer.
