Teachers´ workload from a gender perspective

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou zátěže a jejího zvládání z pohledu učitelů a učitelek čtyř letých gymnázií. Teoretická část je věnována základním pojmům (zátěž, stres a jeho zvládání) a problematice zátěže a stresu z genderového pohledu. Část výzkumná se skládá z vlastního dotazníkového výzkumu, který proběhl za účasti 132 učitelů čtyřletých gymnázií z celé České republiky a zaměřuje se na vnímanou zátěž, copingové strategie a jejich vzájemný vztah z pohledu mužů a žen. Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit, jaká je vnímaná míra zátěže u učitelů čtyřletých gymnázií, jak ji tito učitelé zvládají, a zda existuje vztah mezi vnímanou zátěží a zvládacími strategiemi z pohledu mužů a žen.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with teachers' work stress and non-work stress and its management among the teachers of secondary schools. The theoretical part deals with basic concepts (such as stress, workload and coping strategies) and examines this topic further from a gender perspective. The research part deals with stress, coping strategies and connections between these concepts with the assistance of 132 secondary school teachers. The aim of this thesis is to examine how teachers perceive and manage their stress, especially from the gender perspective, and if there is any relation between the level of the stress and coping strategies.
