Cultivation Theory postulates long term cummulative effects on consumers of media, originally focused on television. This work attempts to apply the concept of cultivation theory to internet users. For these purposes, a sample of 153 first-year students of two faculties, the Faculty of Social Studies and the Faculty of Medicine, is considered.
