Influence of body composition on motor performance of boys in older school age

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce bylo zjistit, zda má vliv tělesné složení na motorickou výkonnost chlapců staršího školního věku. K naplnění tohoto cíle byla použita testová baterie EUROFIT, pro testování motorické výkonnosti. Pro zjištění somatických parametrů byl použit výškoměr HR-001 (Tanita, Japonsko), tetrapolárním BIA tělesným analyzátorem BC 418 MA (Tanita, Japonsko). Ke statistickému zpracování a vyhodnocení naměřených dat bylo použito IBM SPSS Statistics (Version 21 for Windows; IBM, Armonk, NY, USA) a Microsoft office excel. Testovaný soubor činil 51 probandu s průměrným věkem 11,88 let, průměrnou výškou 157,80 cm, průměrnou váhou 48,13 kg a průměrným BMI 19,24. V další fázi jsme rozdělili testovaný soubor dle hodnoty BMI na 4 skupiny P1-P4 (podváha, ideální tělesná váha, nadváha a obezita). Pro porovnání lineární závislosti mezi parametry tělesného složení a výsledky z motorických testů, pro celý testovány soubor byl použit Pearsonův korelační koeficient, který byl vyhodnocen dle analýzy pro těsnost korelačních výsledků. Ty ukázaly vliv tuku a tukuprosté hmoty na motorickou výkonnost u motorických testů, kde se testuje běžecká vytrvalostní schopnost, statická vytrvalostní síla horních končetin, statická síla dominantní ruky a výbušná síla dolních končetin. Dále u porovnávání skupin P1-P4, ve vztahu k motorické výkonnosti z motorických testů, byl použit neparametrický Mann-Whitney U test, pro statistickou významnost a Cohenuv efekt velikosti, pro věcnou významnost. Statistická významnost a věcná významnost, byla zjištěna mezi skupinami P1-P4 (podváha, ideální tělesná váha, nadváha a obezita) v motorických testech, které testují běžeckou vytrvalostní schopnost, statickou rovnováhu celého těla, statickou vytrvalostní sílu horních končetin a výbušnou sílu dolních končetin.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis was to find out whether the body composition has an effect on the motor performance of boys of older school age. To achieve this goal, the EUROFIT test battery was used to test motor performance. To determine somatic parameters, the ALTImeter HR-001 (Tanita, Japan) was used, the tetrapolar BIA body analyzer BC 418 MA (Tanita, Japan). Ke statistickému zpracování a vyhodnocení naměřených dat bylo použito IBM SPSS Statistics (Version 21 for Windows; IBM, Armonk, NY, USA) and Microsoft office excel. The tested group consisted of 51 probands with an average age of 11.88 years, an average height of 157.80 cm, an average weight of 48.13 kg and an average BMI of 19.24. In the next phase, we divided the test set according to the BMI value into 4 groups P1-P4 (underweight, ideal body weight, overweight and obesity). To compare the linear dependence between body composition parameters and motor test results, pearson's correlation coefficient was used for the entire tested set, which was evaluated according to the analysis for the tightness of the correlation results. These showed the effect of fat and fat mass on motor performance in motor tests, where running endurance ability, static endurance strength of the upper limbs, static force of the dominant hand and explosive strength of the lower limbs are tested. Furthermore, when comparing the P1-P4 groups, in relation to motor performance from motor tests, the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test was used, for statistical significance and Cohen effect of size, for material significance. Statistical significance and material significance were found among the P1-P4 groups (underweight, ideal body weight, overweight and obesity) in motor tests that test running endurance ability, static whole-body balance, static endurance strength of the upper limbs and explosive strength of the lower limbs.
