Influence of children's mental or combined handicap on family functioning

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem Vliv mentálního nebo kombinovaného postižení dítěte na fungování rodiny je zaměřena na fungování rodiny po narození potomka s handicapem. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se věnuje mentální retardaci a kombinovanému postižení. Zároveň charakterizuje osobu s Downovým syndromem a Dětskou mozkovou obrnou, poukazuje na rodinu postiženého dítěte, jeho sourozence a na systém pomoci. Praktická část prezentuje výsledky získané z výzkumného šetření, které bylo zaměřené na analýzu vztahů mezi členy rodiny, objasnění fungování rodiny a jakých podpůrných systémů se rodině dostalo. Celá práce je podložena studiem odborné literatury a veškeré získané poznatky od rodin jsou porovnány s poznatky, které jsou publikovány v odborné literatuře.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis with the name Influence of children's mental or combined handicap on family functioning after the baby with a disability is born. The thesis is separated into two parts - theoretical and practical ones. Theoretical part deals with mental retardation and multiple disabilities. It also characterises a person with Down's syndrome and Children's cerebral palsy and refers to disabled children's family, his/her siblings and care system. Practical part presents results obtained from explorative research, which was focused on analysis of relations among family members, clarification of family functioning and what kind of supporting systems had the family available. The whole thesis is based on studies of professional literature and all information obtained from families is compared with facts,which are published in professional literature.
