Abstract:

Navzdory současnému rychlému rozvoji korpusové lingvistiky a z něho plynoucí lepší dostupnosti a přístupnosti korpusů, stále existuji situace, v nichž je sestavení vlastního korpusu, byť je někdy odsuzováno, či považováno za zbytečné, jedním z nejlepších řešení nedostatku vhodného korpusu. Hlavním cílem této práce je popsat na vzorovém specializovaném studentském korpusu alespoň základy toho, jak se korpusy navrhují a sestavují pro ty, kteří by mohli korpusu využít, avšak ocitnou se v situaci, kdy nebude žádný korpus, který by vyhovoval jejich potřebám dostupný. Dále se tato práce snaží dokázat, že i amatérský specializovaný korpus může poskytnout mnoho informací o odborném jazyku, v tomto případě jazyku používaném v obuvnictví.

Abstract:

Despite the recent rapid development of corpus linguistics and consequent availability and accessibility of corpora, there are still situations in which compiling one's own corpus, although sometimes frowned upon or regarded as undesirable, is one of the best solutions to the lack of a suitable corpus. The main aim of this thesis is to give an account of at least the essentials of how corpora are designed and compiled to whoever might benefit from the use of a corpus but find themselves in a situation in which there will not be one at hand that will suit their needs as well as prove that even a DIY specialized corpus can provide a lot of information about language of a particular field. This is achieved through compilation of a DIY specialized corpus of texts on shoemaking on which the whole process of design and compilation of a small specialized corpus is demonstrated as well as its possible uses suggested.
