Krušné hory ke konci minulého tisíciletí nebyly regionem, který by byl ideálním místem pro přeshraniční turismus. Uschlé stromy, nejhorší ovzduší v Evropě, navíc uzavřené hranice. Výraznou změnu přináší rok 1992, ve kterém byl ustanoven Euroregion Krušnohoří/Erzgebirge. Abstract:
Ore Mountains at the end of the last millennium were not a region that would be an ideal place for cross-border tourism. Drought trees, the worst air in Europe, moreover, closed boundaries. The year 1992 marked the Euroregion of Erzgebirge. Cross-border co-operation activities in the field of environment, transport, culture, sport and tourism are starting to develop.
