Selected unemployment indicators in the Karlovy Vary region and the Czech Republic in 2015-2022 in connection with active labour market policy

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou vývoje vybraných ukazatelů nezaměstnanosti v Karlovarském kraji a České republice v souvislosti s aktivní politikou zaměstnanosti v letech 2015-2022. Ukazateli, které tato práce zkoumá jsou obecná míra nezaměstnanosti, podíl nezaměstnaných osob, počet volných pracovních míst, počet uchazečů o zaměstnání a počet uchazečů o zaměstnání na jedno volné pracovní místo. Dále se zabývá také strukturou obyvatel na trhu práce v Karlovarském kraji. Teoretická část využívá metodu literární rešerše a definuje pojmy, které souvisí s trhem práce, nezaměstnaností a aktivní politikou zaměstnanosti. V praktické části jsou použity metody analýzy a komparace. Práce dochází k závěru, že situace na trhu práce v Karlovarském kraji je oproti průměru České republiky podprůměrná, nicméně z hlediska podílu nezaměstnaných osob nelze říct, že dlouhodobě, jelikož v letech 2017-2019 se nacházel podíl nezaměstnaných osob Karlovarského kraje nad celorepublikovým průměrem. Problémovými skupinami na trhu práce jsou osoby dlouhodobě nezaměstnané, osoby nad 50 let věku a osoby s nízkou úrovní vzdělání a na ty by se měl Úřad práce především zaměřit. Podle provedených analýz týkajících se aktivní politiky zaměstnanosti, práce také potvrzuje hypotézu, že aktivní politika zaměstnanosti pomohla významně zlepšit situaci na trhu práce v Karlovarském kraji.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the analysis of the development of selected unemployment indicators in the Karlovy Vary region and the Czech Republic in connection with active labour market policy in 2015-2022. The indicators that this thesis examines are the unemployment rate, the labour force participation rate, the number of job vacancies, the number of job seekers and the job vacancy rate. It also deals with the structure of the population on the labor market in the Karlovy Vary region. The theoretical part uses the method of literature research and defines the terms related to the labor market, unemployment and labour market policy. In the practical part, the method of analysis and comparison are being used. The thesis concludes that the situation on the labor market in the Karlovy Vary region is below average compared to the Czech average, however, in terms of the labour force participation rate it can not be said that i tis long-term, as in 2017-2019 the labour force participation rate in the Karlovy Vary region was above the national average. The problem groups in the labor market are the long-term unemployed, people over the age of 50 and people with a low level of education, and the Unemployment Office should focus on them in the first place. According to the analyzes carried out concerning active labour market policy, the thesis confirms the hypothesis that active labour market policy has helped significantly to improve the situation on the labor market in the Karlovy Vary region.
