Ketogenic diet in the treatment of childhood epilepsy

Abstract:

Ketogenní dieta se v léčbě epilepsie objevuje již několik desítek let. Diplomová práce s názvem Ketogenní dieta v léčbě dětské epilepsie je zaměřena na souhrn informací dostupných k této terapii. Teoretická část diplomové práce je věnována indikaci diety v léčbě farmakorezistentní epilepsie, hlavní částí je nutriční management zavedení diety vhodným pacientům. V praktické části diplomové práce jsou zpracovány tři kazuistiky pacientů s farmakorezistentní epilepsií, je zde průběh jejich léčby od zavedení této terapie. V závěru práce je vypracován edukační materiál s všeobecným nutričním doporučením pro ketogenní dietu.

Abstract:

The ketogenic diet has been established in the treatment of epilepsy for several decades. Diploma thesis called Ketogenic diet in the treatment of childhood epilepsy is focused on a summary of the information available for this therapy. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the indication of the diet in the treatment of farmacoresistant epilepsy, the main part is the nutritional management of diet introduction to suitable patients. In the practical part of the thesis there are three case reports of patients with farmacoresistant epilepsy, there is a course of their treatment since the introduction of this therapy. At the end of the work, educational material with general nutritional recommendation for ketogenic diet is elaborated.
