Audit of fixed assets

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce je zaměřená na provedení auditu dlouhodobého majetku ve vybrané společnosti, kterou je ELITEX Nepomuk, a. s. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí, a to teoretické a praktické. Nejdříve je zpracována část teoretická, která obsahuje charakteristiku auditu a některých základních pojmů, dále legislativu a jiné požadavky na audit či auditory. Tato část se též skládá z popisu celého procesu auditu a samostatné kapitoly, která je věnována stručné definici dlouhodobého majetku včetně některých specifických auditorských postupů v této oblasti. Druhou částí diplomové práce, je část praktická, která aplikuje teoretické poznatky na společnost ELITEX Nepomuk, a. s. Praktická část představí společnost, a je mimo jiné též věnována analýze určitých oblastí potřebných k poznání společnosti samotné. V dalších podkapitolách je stanoven plán auditu dlouhodobého majetku včetně plánu testů a nakonec jsou tyto testy provedeny. Poslední kapitola obsahuje shrnutí důležitých zjištění, výsledků a závěrů plynoucích z analýzy a testování dlouhodobého majetku, včetně některých doporučení.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on an audit of fixed assets of ELITEX Nepomuk, a. s. The thesis is divided into two parts; a theoretical and a practical. The first theoretical part contains the characteristics of the audit and some basic terms, as well as legislation and other requirements for audit and auditors. This part also consists of a description of the entire audit process, and a separate chapter is devoted to a brief definition of fixed assets, including certain specific audit procedures in this area. The second part of the thesis is the practical part, which applies the theoretical basics to the company ELITEX Nepomuk, a. s. The practical part introduces the company, and is also devoted to the analysis of certain areas that are needed to get to know the company itself. The plan of the audit of fixed assets will be set up in the next subchapters, along with the plan of the tests that will be conducted afterwards. The final chapter is the summary of the important findings, results and conclusions gained from the analysis and testing of fixed assets, including some recommendations.
