Definition and setting of modern KPIs in the field of employee retention

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce má za cíl navrhnout a implementovat dashboard pro poradenskou firmu X v oblasti lidských zdrojů, na jehož základě bude možné jasně určit nejvýznamnější důvody odchodů zaměstnanců dané společnosti. K dílčím cílům pak náleží identifikování KPIs a navržení metrik, společně s vymezením pohledů, jak se na dané metriky bude nahlížet. Dále sem spadají činnosti jako určit výpočty potřebných metrik, zjistit stav zpracování dat ve firmě a případně provést audit a čištění dat. Dalším dílčím cílem je pak vytvořit analýzu výsledků z dashboardu doplněnou o doporučení. Za tímto účelem je nejdříve provedena analýza požadavků na výstupní dashboard, seznámení se s procesy firmy a definovaní metrik a dimenzí. Následuje napojení dat, jejich příprava, transformace, vytvoření dashboardu a v poslední řadě validace, která v podobě UX testování vede k finalizaci dashboardu a pak také hodnotí kvalitu dat. Výsledkem práce je jednak dashboard a analýza dat, která popisuje vývoj odchozích zaměstnanců z firmy za poslední čtyři roky. A vyhodnocuje, zda data reflektují predikce aktuálního trendu Velké rezignace v oblasti fluktuace zaměstnanců. Tento trend se dle dat společnosti v posledním roce neprojevil, ale analýza prvního čtvrtletí letošního roku naznačuje několik společných ukazatelů s tímto trendem.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to design and implement a dashboard for consulting company X in the field of human resources, on the basis of which it will be possible to clearly determine the most important reasons for the departure of the employees of the given company. The sub-goals then include identifying KPIs and designing metrics, along with defining views on how to approach the given metrics. This also includes activities such as determining the calculations of the necessary metrics, finding out the status of data processing in the company, and possibly performing an audit and data cleaning. Another sub-goal is to provide an analysis of the results from the dashboard, supplemented with recommendations. For this purpose, the requirements for the output dashboard are first analysed, familiarization with the company's processes, and metrics and dimensions are defined. This is followed by the connection of data, its preparation, transformation, creation of a dashboard, and finally, validation, which in the form of UX testing leads to the finalization of the dashboard and then also evaluates the quality of the data. The results of this thesis are a dashboard and a data analysis, which describes the development of outgoing employees from the company over the past four years. And it evaluates whether the data reflect the predictions of the current trend of Great Resignations in the field of employee turnover. According to the company's data, this trend did not manifest itself in the last year, but the analysis of the first quarter of this year includes several common indicators with this trend.
