Design of a Seating Element for Interior

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá návrhem sedacího prvku do interiéru, přesněji se jedná o židli vyrobenou z jasanového masivního dřeva. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část se zabývá historickým vývojem, typologií a požadavky na sedací nábytek, se zaměřením na židle. Praktická část se zabývá samotným návrhem konkrétní židle, která je předmětem této diplomové práce. V této části je uvedena rešerše českého i zahraničního trhu, dále pak detailně rozepsaný průběh návrhu, od prvotní myšlenky až po finální návrh. Dále byly na návrhu provedeny zkoušky mechanických vlastností židle, pomocí výpočtu stability a metody konečných prvků. Poslední část práce se zabývá popisem výroby funkčního modelu židle v reálném měřítku, včetně použitého materiálu. Židle je navržena tak, aby se stala nadčasovým kusem nábytku, který v sobě spojuje poctivé řemeslné zpracování masivního dřeva s moderním tvaroslovím židle, s vizuálně zajímavými konstrukční detaily.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the design of a seating element for interior, specifically a chair made of solid ash wood. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the historical development, typology and requirements for seating furniture, with a focus on chairs. The practical part deals with the design of a specific chair, which is the subject of this thesis. This part includes research of the Czech and foreign market, as well as a detailed description of the design process, from the initial idea to the final design. In addition, mechanical property tests of the chair were conducted using stability calculation and finite element method. The last part of the thesis describes the production of a functional model of the chair in real scale, including the materials used. The chair is designed to become a timeless piece of furniture that combines honest craftsmanship of solid wood with modern chair design, featuring visually interesting construction details.
