Benefits of personal assistance for a family with a child with a disability

Abstract:

Tématem této bakalářské práce je přínos osobní asistence pro rodinu s dítětem s postižením. V první kapitole jsou obsaženy obecné informace o rodině. Podrobněji se zabývá významem rodiny, typy rodin a rolí v nich. Druhá kapitola zahrnuje informace o rodině dítěte s postižením. Její podkapitoly se konkrétně zaměřují na fáze přijetí zdravotního postižení dítěte, dále také věnuje pozornost sourozenci dítěte s postižením. Poslední kapitola teoretické části se týká osobní asistence, především vymezením pojmu osobní asistence, osobní asistence z hlediska legislativy, také financováním rodin státem a v neposlední řadě aktivními účastníky osobní asistence. Pro potřeby praktické části byl využit kvalitativní výzkum, přesněji zakotvená teorie. Cílem práce je zjistit, jakými způsoby osobní asistence pomáhá zjednodušit život rodinám i dítěti samotnému.

Abstract:

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the benefits of personal assistance for a family with a disabled child. The first chapter provides general information about family and connected terminology.Details about the importance of family, parenting styles and types of families are presented. The second chapter covers the issues of families with a child with a disability. In its subchapters, focus is specifically placed on the acceptance of the child's disability stages, and the attention i also given to the sibling of the child with a disability. The last chapter of the theoretical part concerns personal assistance. The definition of personal assistance is treated , as well as personal assistance in terms of legislation together with the means of these families funding by the state and last but not least the active participants in personal assistance. The qalitative research, more precisely grounded theory, was used for the practical part. The aim of the thesis is to find out in what ways personal assistance can make the life of a parent and a child with disabilities easier.
