The process of adapting seniors to the institutional environment

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na proces adaptace seniorů po přestěhování z domácího do institucionálního prostředí a na faktory ovlivňující průběh období adaptace. Cílem bakalářské práce je popsat a analyzovat proces adaptace seniorů na institucionální prostředí v pobytovém zařízení. Vývoj adaptace bude prezentován na základě výběru určitých kritérií. Jako metoda je zde zvolena obsahová analýza dostupné sociální dokumentace a komparace zpracovaných kazuistik, ve kterých je u třech konkrétních seniorů zdokumentována jejich situace.

Abstract:

This Bachelor Thesis is focused on the process of adaptation of senior citizens after their relocation from home environment to an institutional one, as well as on the factors influencing the adaptation process. The aim of the Thesis is to describe and analyse the adaptation process of senior citizens to an institutional environment of a residential facility. The adaptation development will be presented on the basis of specific criteria. A content analysis of available social documentation and comparison of processed case studies, whereas the situation of three particular seniors is being documented, is chosen here as a method.
