Qualitative research of meeting employment expectations in selected cultural organisations

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce řeší očekávání a jejich naplnění absolventů Arts managementu na pracovním trhu ve vybraných organizacích Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce bylo zjistit, jaká očekávání od své pracovní pozice mají lidé pracující v českých kulturních příspěvkových organizacích a jakým způsobem jsou daná očekávání naplněna v pracovním procesu. Nejprve jsou definovány základní pojmy pro pochopení celé problematiky. Dále je v práci přiblíženo, jaká očekávání mají lidé ve společnosti ohledně práce. Následuje uvedení do světového kontextu oboru arts management. Vyhodnocení výzkumu probíhalo na základě polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s absolventy daného oboru a výsledky ukazují, že očekávání absolventů nenaplňuje nejvíce finanční ohodnocení a způsob vedení jednotlivých organizací. V závěru jsou navrženy další možnosti zpracování této problematiky a možnosti jejího ovlivnění v budoucnu.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis is focused on employment expectations, and their fulfilment, of Arts Management graduates in the selected organisations. The primary objective of this thesis was to identify the job expectations of employees at Czech contributory organisations, and how such expectations are fulfilled during the employment. First, key terms are defined for the understanding of the problem domain. Subsequently, societal expectations related to employment are outlined. Next, the global context of Arts Management is introduced. The analysis of the outcomes has been executed on the basis of semi-structured interviews with the graduates of the programme and the results indicate that the graduate expectations are not met mainly in terms of financial remuneration and the style of management at the organisations. Further opportunities for research in this field and its possible future impact are discussed in the conclusion.
