Arsenic, the well-known poisonous element, has been found in groundwaters of many countries in the world. Its presence in water used for drinking, bathing, and irrigation poses health risks to as many as half a billion people who are exposed to it through use of tube wells or water-piped systems. Prvek proslulý svou jedovatostí, arzen, byl nalezen v podzemních vodách mnoha zemí světa. Jeho přítomnost ve vodách používaných ke konzumaci, mytí a zavlažování představuje zdravotní rizika ohrožující až půl miliardy lidí, kteří s ním přicházají do skytu v rámci užívání trubních studní i vodovodů.
