Relationship to homeland in selected newspaper contributions by Jan Drda from years 1939 - 1955

Abstract:

Předmětem této práce je analýza vybraných děl Jana Drdy z let 1939-1955. V dílech jsou vyhledávány motivy domoviny a na základě rozboru těchto motivů je popsán vztah Drdy k jeho domovině a vývoj tohoto vztahu. Cílem práce je nalézt v dílech přímé i nepřímé zmínky o Drdově domovu, odvodit jeho vztah k místům, na kterých pobýval a která za domov považoval, popsat změny Drdova vnímání domova a tento vývoj částečně odůvodnit na základě jeho životních událostí. Práce je rozčleněna do dvou částí. V první, teoretické části jsou vytyčeny základní pojmy domov a domovina tak, aby podle tohoto vytyčení mohlo být postupováno v praktické části. Dále je v první části popsána Drdova literární činnost a politický a historický kontext, ve kterém Drda tvořil. V poslední kapitole teoretické části je stručná analýza žánrů popisovaných v práci. Druhá část je zaměřena prakticky na analýzu konkrétních děl a motivů. V práci jsou hledány souvislosti mezi motivy a na základě těchto analýz je popsán vztah Jana Drdy k jeho domovu a domovině. Popsán je i vývoj tohoto vztahu v průběhu vybraných let. V závěru práce autor uvádí, že Drdovo vnímání domova se v průběhu let výrazně měnilo a popisuje tuto proměnu od vnímání Drdovy rodné Příbrami až po vnímání celé vlasti či Sovětského svazu jako domova.

Abstract:

The object of this undergraduate thesis is the analysis of selected newspaper contributions written by Jan Drda during the years 1939-1955. Drda´s relationship to his homeland and its changes and progresses are described based on research and analysis of the contributions. The goal of the thesis is to find explicit and implicit motive of Drda´s homeland and to deduce his relationship to the places, where he lived and he considered as home, to describe the progress of his perception of his homeland and to provide it with the evidence from his life events. The thesis is divided into two main sections. The first, theoretical section includes definitions of the word home and homeland, so the practical part could follow the definition. It also includes Drda´s literal work and political and historical context, which support the general understanding. The last chapter of the first section is focusing on analysis of the literary genre of the selected works. The second section provides practical analysis of concrete works and motives and also the context between each motive. Based on the analysis it covers the description of Drda´s relationship to his home and homeland and covers also the changes and progress of this relationship in the years 1939-1955. The summary of this relationship is summarized in the final part. The author claims that Drda´s perception of homeland went through changes that developed from his hometown Příbram to his country and in the end to the Soviet Union.
