Homosexuals and their experience in dealing with society and their close ones

Abstract:

Má práce je rozdělena na dvě časti - teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části se věnuji vymezení pojmu sexuální identita, registrovanému partnerství a vztahu společnosti k homosexualitě dnes a v historii v České republice i Evropě. V praktické části využiji polostrukturovaný rozhovor. Udělala jsem rozhovory s osmi homosexuály o tom, jaké bylo jejich objevení sexuální orientace, jak na to reagovalo jejich okolí a jaké mají možnosti ve vztazích s partnery. Cílem mé bakalářské práce je zkoumat, na jaké reakce mohou narazit homosexuálové při svém coming outu ve svém okolí a společnosti. Také se snažím porovnat vztah homosexuálů a společnosti v minulosti i dnes.

Abstract:

My work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, I will give definitions of sexual identity, registered partnership and the relationship of the society towards homosexuality today and in the past, both in the Czech Republic and in Europe. In the practical part, I will use semi-structured interview. I interviewed 8 homosexuals about their discovery of sexual orientation, how their surroundings responded to it and what are their opportunities in relationships with partners. The aim of my bachelor thesis is to examine what reactions homosexuals may encounter when coming out in their neighborhood and society. I also compare the relationship of homosexuals and society in the past and at present.
