Transiton to democracy in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic - similarities and differences

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na přechod k demokracii ČR a SR, zejména shody a rozdíly demokratického režimu oproti komunistickému režimu. Cílem je prozkoumat jednotlivé dopady těchto režimů na společnost.Práce se zaměřuje na srovnání přechodu k demokracii v České republice a na Slovensku po pádu komunistického režimu v roce 1989. V této práci budou analyzovány nedemokratické režimy a teorie přechodů k demokracii. Dále bude v práci analyzován komunistický režim, jeho vzestup, vláda a následný pád a společné prvky, které Českou republiku a Slovensko vzájemně ovlivnily. Rovněž budou v této práci rozebrány jednotlivé události, které vedly ke vzniku odlišných demokratických institucí v obou zemích.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the transition to democracy in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, particularly the similarities and differences between the democratic regime and the communist regime. Its aim is to explore the various impacts of these regimes on society. The thesis compares the transition to democracy in the Czech Republic and Slovakia after the fall of the communist regime in 1989. It analyzes nondemocratic regimes and theories of democratic transitions. Additionally, it examines the rise, rule, and subsequent fall of the communist regime, as well as common elements that mutually influenced the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Furthermore, the thesis discusses the individual events that led to the creation of different democratic institutions in both countries.
