New trends in cultural tourism focusing on culinary tourism in Prague

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá novodobými trendy v oblasti kulinářského turismu v souvislosti s motivací turistů k účasti na kulinářských aktivitách ve městě. Hlavním cílem práce je analýza poptávky a nabídky v kulinářském turismu v Praze a posouzení, zda je Praha vyhledávanou kulinářskou destinací, či nikoliv. Teoretická část práce je sumarizací terminologie související s turismem, podstatná část je věnována kulturnímu turismu, jehož je kulinářský turismus součástí, motivaci a spotřebnímu chování turistů a také vývoji gastronomie a kulinářského turismu. Definovány jsou rovněž novodobé trendy v nabídce a poptávce po kulinářském turismu. Praktická část je věnována poptávce po atraktivitách kulinářského turismu v Praze a místní nabídce. Obsahuje popis nabídky aktivit v oblasti kulinářského turismu a analýzu návštěvnosti Prahy. Vlastní výzkum je proveden formou dotazníkového šetření na turistech, kteří Prahu navštívili a řízeným rozhovorům s osobnostmi působícími na místním trhu gastronomie a kulinářského turismu. Na základě zjištěných poznatků byla definována poptávka po atraktivitách a nabídka kulinářských atraktivit v Praze, prostory pro rozvoj nabídky a charakterizováno cestovní chování turistů.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the modern trends in food tourism in terms of tourist motivation to participate in culinary activities in the city. The main aim of the thesis is to analyze demand and offer in food tourism in Prague and to assess whether Prague is a sought-after culinary destination or not. The theoretical part of the thesis is a summary of tourism-related terminology, a substantial part is devoted to cultural tourism, which includes food tourism, motivation and consumer behavior of tourists as well as the development of gastronomy and culinary tourism. Modern trends in the supply and demand of culinary tourism are also defined. Practical part is devoted to demand for food tourism activities in Prague and local offer. It contains a description of activities in food tourism and analysis of Prague visits. The actual research is carried out in the form of questionnaire survey of tourists who visited Prague and managed interviews with personalities operating on the local market of gastronomy and food tourism. Based on the findings, the demand for attractiveness and the offer of culinary attractions in Prague, the areas for development of the offer and the marked tourist behavior of tourists were defined.
