Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou vztahů síly v komunikaci lékařů a pacientů. Zaujímáme k ní postoj založený na kritické diskurzivní analýze (CDA) a konverzační analýze (CA) a klasifikujeme ji jako ukázku institucionálního diskurzu. Jako takovou ji pak charakterizujeme orientací k naplnění svého cíle, kterým je doktorovo získání nezbytných informací, určení diagnózy a jeho pomoc pacientovi. Ačkoliv je naplnění takového cíle výsledkem úsilí obou účastníků, můžeme lékaře považovat za silnějšího účastníka hovoru. Pomocí analýzy autentických dat dokazujeme, že doktor skrze své otázky kontroluje rozhovor, pokud jde o to, o čem se mluví. Na závěr je shrnuto, co jsme zjistili o vztazích síly v komunikaci lékařů a pacientů. Připojujeme také diskuzi o změně v poskytování lékařské péče.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the issue of power relations in doctor-patient communication. Adopting an approach based on critical discourse analysis (CDA) and conversation analysis (CA), doctor-patient communication is classified as an example of institutional discourse. As such it is characterised, among others, by goal orientation. The goal of doctor-patient communication is for the doctor to gain the necessary information, make a diagnosis and help the patient. Although achieving the goal is a result of the collaborative effort of both participants, the doctor can be seen as the more powerful participant. Through an analysis of authentic data it is demonstrated that using their questions, the doctor controls the interview in terms of what is being talked about. In conclusion, it is summarized what has been discovered about power relations in doctor-patient communication as well as a discussion of a change in medical care delivery is offered.
