The Problems of Division of Germany in Christa Wolf´s and Brigitte Reimann´s Writings

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis concerns the problems of the division of Germany, especially the sit-uation in then German Democratic Republic, which is shown in tales of Christa Wolf and Brigitte Reimann. The theoretic part deals with historical basis, GDR-literature in general, and ?Ankunftsliteratur?. I am also considering the biography of authors. The practical part contains the analyses of the literature works in terms of GDR-problems and their comparison. For my thesis I have chosen the tales ?Der geteilte Himmel? and ?Die Geschwister?.

Abstract:

Diese Bachelorarbeit befasst sich mit der Problematik der Teilung Deutschlands, vor allem mit der Situation in der damaligen Deutschen Demokratischen Republik, welche in den Christa Wolfs und Brigitte Reimanns Erzählungen erscheint. Der theoretische Teil widmet sich historischen Grundlagen, DDR-Literatur allgemein und der Ankunftsliteratur. Ich beschäftige mich auch mit den Lebensläufen der Autorinnen. Der praktische Teil beinhaltet die Analyse der literarischen Werke im Rahmen der DDR-Problematik und ihre Vergleichung. Für meine Arbeit habe ich die Erzählungen Der geteilte Himmel und Die Geschwister gewählt.
