Dialogue about Human Rights: The West And Islamic World.

Abstract:

Lidská práva jsou pojem, který hýbe celým světem. Aktuální politické dění se dnes často točí kolem tohoto pojmu a vznikají debaty o univerzální platnosti konceptu lidských práv. Jedním z nejvýraznějších střetů v této oblasti je debata nad lidskými právy mezi západní kulturou a islámem. Tato práce si klade za cíl ukázat ideová východiska obou partnerů dialogu o lidských právech, dále představit dosavadní situaci tohoto společného dialogu, a v závěru konstatovat, zda je konstruktivní dialog vůbec možný. Analýzou lidskoprávních dokumentů a dosavadního akademického zkoumání i politické praxe jsme dospěli k závěru, že konstruktivní dialog možný je, ale je podmíněn několika významnými faktory. Je důležité, aby obě strany dialogu měly upřímný zájem rozšířit své dosavadní poznání o nové poznatky a otevřít se debatě nad ochranou práv člověka.

Abstract:

Human rights are term which influences nowadays world. World politics is touched by this theme and there are several debates about universality of human rights concept. The most visible clash about human rights is debate about the topic between West and islam. This thesis takes task to describe background of human rights idea in both cultures, to show present situation of the dialog and at the end to answer the question if there is any possibility of productive dialog between West and islam about human rights theme. The methodology is analysis of declarations about human rights, academic studies and political reality. At the end of this thesis we found out that there is a possibility to have productive dialogue about human rights within West and islam, but there are some significant conditions to be fulfilled. The main requirement is that both, West and islam, need to be open to dialogue and to get know new knowledge about protection of human being.
