Information ecology as a manifestation of information behaviour

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Informační ekologie jako projev informačního chování“ pojednává o nově se tvořícím přístupu a způsobu myšlení o užití ICT –„informační ekologii“. Vychází z mnoha vědních oborů a přístupů jako je informační etika, informační chování a sociální informatika, jejichž základní myšlenky a souvislosti s informační ekologií si zde představujeme. Tato práce postupně vysvětluje pojem a vývoj zájmu o informační ekologii. Ukazuje její význam a možnosti použití. Popisuje její základní charakteristiky, které jsou analogické s klasickou biologickou ekologií. Vyzdvihuje základy informační ekologie v informační etice a navazuje na představení problémů, které se snaží řešit jako je informační chudoba a nerovný přístup k informacím (digital divide). Nejvíce se práce zaměřuje na informační chování člověka v informačním prostředí. Informační ekologii vnímáme jako projev informačního chování. Následně nastiňuje základní myšlenky sociální informatiky. Objasňuje vývoj informační ekologie a uvádí její konkrétní příklady. Dále hledá principy a nastavení informační ekologie v managementu a závěrem nabízí návody a doporučení pro manažery.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis „Information ecology as a manifestation of information behavior” deals with a new forming approach and form of thinking about use of ICT – “information ecology”. It goes from many disciplines and approaches as information ethics, information behavior and social informatics, whose basic ideas and relationship with information ecology we present here. This thesis step by step explains conception and development of interest about information ecology. Thesis shows its meaning and possibilities of use. There is describing its basic characteristic that is analogous to classically biologically ecology. Underline the base of information ecology in information ethics and connects on representation of problems that is try to solve as information poverty and unequal access to information (digital dividing). Thesis is largely focusing on information behavior of man in information environment. We perceive information ecology as a manifestation of information behavior. Consequently we outline basic ideas of social informatics. We show up the development of information ecology and mention its concrete examples. Next we are looking for principles and settings of information ecology in management and in conclusion we offer directions and recommendation for managers.
