Movie Adaptations of W. A. Mozart's Life and their Application in Music Class

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá faktografickou analýzou a komparací tří filmových zpracování života Wolfganga Amadea Mozarta - Amadeus, Wolfgang A. Mozart a Variácie slávy. Teoretická část práce pojednává o životě, osobnosti a hudebním díle W. A. Mozarta a objasňuje také jeho vztah se skladatelem Antoniem Salierim. Praktická část práce si klade za cíl zhodnotit jednotlivá zpracování zhlediska jejich didaktického využití vhodinách hudební výchovy. Vrámci rozboru porovnává tato práce filmová zobrazení osobnosti skladatele a událostí v jeho životě s historickými prameny. Následně vyzdvihuje přednosti a nedostatky, které by mohly ovlivnit jejich potenciální využití ve výuce.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with a factual analysis and comparison of three film treatments of the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Amadeus, Wolfgang A. Mozart and Variations on Glory. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the life, personality and musical works of W. A. Mozart and also explains his relationship with the composer Antonio Salieri. The practical part of the thesis aims to evaluate the individual works in terms of their didactic use in music education classes. As part of the analysis, the thesis compares the filmic representation of the composer's personality and events in his life with historical sources. It then highlights the merits of and shortcomings that could influence their potential use in the classroom.
