Work-life balance policies in Czech Republic and in Slovenia (comparative study).

Abstract:

Ekonomické tlaky transformace změnily design, míru vlivu a legitimitu programů sociální politiky v bývalých komunistických zemích. Postmoderní důraz na individualitu a svobodu voleb se dostává do střetu s tradičním pojetím genderové rovnosti v socialistický režimech, postaveným na garanci participace žen na trhu práce. Cílem práce je analyzovat, do jaké míry Slovinsko a Česká republika rozpoznaly nové výzvy v oblasti sladění práce a rodiny. Do jaké míry umožňují rodičům s dětmi mladšími tří let harmonizovat pracovní a rodinné závazky. Analýza se zaměřuje primárně na design opatření z perspektivy genderové rovnosti a svobody volby. Srovnáním koncepcí harmonizačních opatření v obou analyzovaných státech se pokusíme zjistit ideál genderové rovnosti, na kterém je při konstrukci opatření stavěno, umožněné volby harmonizace práce a rodiny a míru respektu k principu rovných šancí. genderové rovnosti a svobody volby. Abstract:

Economical forces of transition have changed the design, influence and legitimation of social policy programs in former communist countries. Postmodernist emphasis on individualization, Self actualization and freedom of choice is confronting traditional concept of gender equality in socialists countries, which was based on guarantying women the position on the labour market. The aim of the study is to analyze the extend Slovenia and Czech Republic have recognized the new challenges of balancing work and family. To which extend they enable parents of children (up to three years of age) to balance work and family engagements. The main concern of the analysis is the design of the policies from the perspective of gender equality and freedom of choice. By comparing the two countries from the aspect of harmonization policies, we aim to recognize the concept of gender equality the schemes are based on, which strategies are enabling this concept and to which extend the policies respect the principles of equal chances.
