ICT in the work of teachers during the COVID-19 era

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá využitím informačních a komunikačních technologií (ICT) ve vzdělávacím procesu během pandemie COVID-19, s důrazem na zkušenosti učitelů v České republice. Cílem práce je analyzovat, jak učitelé vnímali a využívali ICT během distanční výuky, identifikovat technologické platformy používané při výuce a zhodnotit výhody a nevýhody spojené s tímto vzdělávacím přístupem. Práce je rozdělena do několika kapitol. V teoretické části se zaměřuje na definici ICT, historii a význam ICT ve vzdělávání, a dále na význam a technologie distančního vzdělávání v kontextu pandemie COVID-19. Výzkumná část práce popisuje metodologii kvalitativního výzkumu, který proběhl prostřednictvím hloubkových polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s učitelkami ze dvou gymnázií. Výsledky výzkumu odhalují, že učitelé museli rychle adaptovat své výukové metody a naučit se používat nové technologie, což představovalo značné výzvy, ale také přineslo pozitivní změny v jejich pedagogické praxi. Práce také zkoumá dopady pandemie na kvalitu výuky a vzdělávací výsledky studentů, přičemž zdůrazňuje klíčové faktory, které ovlivnily úspěšnost distanční výuky. Závěry práce poskytují doporučení pro budoucí využití ICT ve vzdělávání, zejména v krizových situacích, a nabízejí pohled na možné dlouhodobé změny ve vzdělávacím systému způsobené pandemickou zkušeností.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis explores the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the educational process during the COVID-19 pandemic, with a focus on the experiences of teachers in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to analyze how teachers perceived and utilized ICT during distance learning, identify the technological platforms used in teaching, and assess the advantages and disadvantages associated with this educational approach. The thesis is divided into several chapters. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of ICT, the history and significance of ICT in education, and the importance and technologies of distance education in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The research part of the thesis describes the methodology of qualitative research, conducted through in-depth semi-structured interviews with teachers from two grammar schools. The research results reveal that teachers had to quickly adapt their teaching methods and learn to use new technologies, which posed significant challenges but also brought positive changes to their pedagogical practice. The thesis also examines the impact of the pandemic on the quality of teaching and students' educational outcomes, highlighting key factors that influenced the success of distance learning.The conclusions provide recommendations for future use of ICT in education, especially in crisis situations, and offer insights into possible long-term changes in the educational system resulting from the pandemic experience.
