Burnout syndrome in Midwife’s profession

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje problematice syndromu vyhoření v profesi porodní asistentka. Úvodní kapitoly teoretické části se zabývají definicí a historií vyhoření. Dále je zde zmíněno působení a zvládání zátěžových situací. Další kapitoly obsahují ucelený souhrn informací o rizikových faktorech vzniku, projevech, prevenci a léčbě tohoto stavu. Praktická část práce vychází z dotazníkového šetření k testování a ověřování stanovených hypotéz. Cílem výzkumné části bylo zjistit, v jaké míře syndrom vyhoření postihuje porodní asistentky pracující na porodním sále. Z výsledků je patrné, že třetina sledovaných porodních asistentek trpí vysokým stupněm emocionálního vyčerpání. Vysoká depersonalizace a nízké osobní uspokojení se objevuje v menší míře. Z výzkumu vychází, že zvolené porovnávací faktory (věk, délka praxe a pracovní vytížení) nemají na míru syndromu vyhoření vliv. Jediná výjimka se objevila u faktoru pracovního vytížení v oblasti emocionálního vyčerpání, které bylo vyšší u pracoviště s větším počtem porodů.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the problem of burnout in the profession of midwife. The introductory chapters of the theoretical part deal with the definition and history of burnout. The effect and management of stress situations also mentioned. Other chapters contain a comprehensive summary of risk factors for emergence, manifestation, prevention and treatment of this condition. The practical part of the work is based on a questionnaire survey to test and verify the hypotheses. The aim of the research part is to find out to what extent burnout syndrome affects midwives working in the delivery room. The results show that one third of the monitored midwives suffer from a high degree of emotional exhaustion. High depersonalization and low personal satisfaction appear to a lesser extent. The research suggests that the selected comparative factors (age, duration of work and workload) have no influence on burnout. The only exception was the workload factor in the area of emotional exhaustion which was higher at the workplaces with more births.
