The Impact of the 2008 Economic Crisis on Czech-Swiss trade

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje dopadům ekonomické krize z roku 2008 na česko-švýcarský obchod. Cílem práce je zjistit, jak se vyvíjel vzájemný obchod ČR a Švýcarska v období před, během a po krizi, a pomocí analýzy a komparace zhodnotit dopady světové hospodářské krize na obchod mezi těmito zeměmi. Práce je rozdělena na tři kapitoly, přičemž první kapitola popisuje vliv krize na mezinárodní obchod s důrazem na rozdíly mezi rozvinutými a rozvojovými zeměmi. Druhá kapitola se zaměřuje na analýzu dopadů krize na česko-švýcarské obchodní vztahy. Zahrnuje jak změny ve struktuře obchodu se zbožím a službami, tak i vliv ekonomické krize na přímé zahraniční investice. Třetí kapitola se zabývá vlastním výzkumem, který byl proveden na základě dotazníkového šetření na vybraných českých společnostech vyvážejících do Švýcarska, a sleduje, jak se vyvíjel jejich obchod se Švýcarskem a jaké změny v důsledku krize nastaly.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the impact of the 2008 economic crisis on Czech-Swiss trade. The aim of the thesis is to find out how the mutual trade between the Czech Republic and Switzerland developed in the period before, during and after the crisis, and to evaluate the impact of the global economic crisis on trade between these countries by means of analysis and comparison. The thesis is divided into three chapters, with the first chapter describing the impact of the crisis on international trade with an emphasis on the differences between developed and developing countries. The second chapter focuses on the analysis of the impact of the crisis on Czech-Swiss trade relations. It covers both changes in the structure of trade in goods and services and the impact of the economic crisis on foreign direct investments. The third chapter deals with my own research, which was conducted through a questionnaire survey aimed at Czech companies exporting to Switzerland, and looks at how their trade with Switzerland evolved and what changes occurred as a result of the crisis.
