Vliv vzdělání na ekonomický růst: případ Ruska a Kazachstán v novodobé historii

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá složitým propojením vzdělávání a ekonomického růstu se specifickým zaměřením na Rusko a Kazachstán. Primárním cílem je teoreticky i empiricky prozkoumat, zda jedinečné vzdělávací základny v těchto zemích, ovlivněné faktory, jako je míra zapsaných studentů, výdaje na vzdělání a úroveň gramotnosti atd., prokazují vztah s ekonomickým rozvojem, jak naznačuje existující literatura (Ozturk 2008, Hanushek a kol., 2008, Benos a Zotou 2014 atd.). Ústřední hypotéza testuje pozitivní korelaci mezi úrovní vzdělání a ekonomickým rozvojem v obou zemích od roku 1991 do roku 2022. I když se nejedná o inaugurační studii v tomto regionu (Kukeyev et al. 2014, Klyachko and Semionova 2018, 5 Karabayev et al. 2023), tato práce přispívá k širší diskusi o roli vzdělávání v ekonomickém rozvoji tím, že se zaměřuje na konkrétní determinanty. Jeho cílem je poskytnout cenné poznatky pro tvůrce politik v Rusku, Kazachstánu a dalších zemích, jejichž cílem je posílit ekonomický růst prostřednictvím investic do vzdělávání. Práce se skládá ze dvou hlavních částí: části teoretické a části empirické. Teoretická část se snaží nastolit porozumění předmětu zkoumáním existující literatury, teoretických rámců a mechanismů, kterými vzdělávání přispívá k ekonomickému růstu. Podtrhuje význam tématu v kontextu moderních dějin, opírá se o historická fakta a analýzu politik. Empirická část zahrnuje sběr relevantních dat, zahrnujících ukazatele vzdělání, informace o ekonomickém růstu a kontrolní proměnné pro Rusko i Kazachstán. Tato data, zahrnující období od roku 1991 do roku 2022, umožňují testování hlavní hypotézy pomocí regresní analýzy. Zjištění mají sloužit jako zdůvodnění podporující poznatky pro tvorbu politik

Abstract:

This thesis delves into the intricate connection between education and economic growth, with a specific focus on Russia and Kazakhstan. The primary goal is to examine both theoretically and empirically whether the unique educational bases in these countries, influenced by factors such as enrolment rates, educational expenditure, and literacy levels, etc, demonstrate a relationship with economic development, as suggested by existing literature (Ozturk 2008, , Benos and Zotou 2014, etc). The central hypothesis tests for a positive correlation between education levels and economic development in both nations from 1991 to 2022. While not the inaugural study in this region (Mihr 2020), this thesis contributes to the broader discussion on the role of education in economic development by focusing on specific determinants. It aims to provide valuable insights for policymakers in Russia, Kazakhstan, and other countries aiming to enhance economic growth through educational investments. The thesis consists of two main sections: a theoretical part and an empirical one. The theoretical section endeavours to establish a comprehension of the subject by exploring existing literature, theoretical frameworks, and the mechanisms through which education contributes to economic growth. It underscores the significance of the topic within the context of modern history, relying on historical facts and policy analysis. The empirical section entails gathering relevant data, encompassing education indicators, information on economic growth, and control variables for both Russia and Kazakhstan. This data, spanning the period from 1991 to 2022, enables the testing of the main hypothesis through regression analysis. The findings aim to serve as substantiation supporting insights for policymaking.
