The Comparison of the EU with some other Similar Project of Integration

Abstract:

Předmětem této práce je srovnání Evropské unie s Africkou unií, jakožto nejvýznamnějším ekonomicko-politickým integračním projektem v Africe. Motivem k napsání této práce byl zájem zjistit, zdali jsou si obě organizace skutečně tak kvalitativně podobné, jak by se z jejich názvu mohlo zdát. Ve své práci se pokusím potvrdit nebo vyvrátit hypotézu, že EU je na vývojově vyšší úrovni integrace než AU. Vzhledem k množství prací a příspěvků týkajících se problematiky evropské integrace předpokládám, že čtenář má již jisté povědomí o této oblasti a zaměřují se na problematiku obnovy a dynamizace integračního mechanismu na africkém kontinentu. Na úvod práce definuji pojem integrace. V dalších kapitolách komparuji důvody vedoucí k vzniku obou organizací, cíle a principy, na nichž stojí a dále vnitřní strukturu orgánů. Nakonec je zařazena kapitola o mezinárodní relevanci obou uskupení a problémech, které je aktuálně sužují.

Abstract:

In this bachelor thesis I try to compare the European Union with the African Union, which is probably the most important economic-political integration project in Africa. The incentive for writing this thesis was my interest to find out whether these two organizations are similar, as their name might suggest. In my thesis I try to confirm or disprove my hypothesis that the EU is on higher level of integration development than the AU. Taking in account the number of works dealing with the European integration, I assume that the reader has already got some knowledge in this area and therefore I focus on the issue of redefinition and dynamization of integration mechanism on the African continent. At the beginning of this thesis I define the concept of integration. In the following chapters I compare the circumstances leading to the creation of both organizations, their objectives and principles and also the structure of their authorities. Finally, there is a charter on the relevance of both international organizations and on their current problems.
