Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce se bude zabývat slovy přejatými z německého jazyka. V teoretické části bude vysvětlen proces přejímání cizích slov, nastíněny typy lingvistických přejímek a důvody, proč anglický jazyk přejímá slova z jazyka německého. V praktické části bude zkoumáno použití vybraných přejatých německých slov v současné americké angličtině pomocí internetového korpusu COCA.
Abstract:
This bachelor thesis focuses on German borrowings from the 1930s used in contemporary American English. With the aid of COCA, the practical part analyzes the occurrence, the frequency and the usage of ten chosen German borrowings. The thesis shows if and how their meaning has changed since the 1930s.
